In the summer of 2018, almost entire Museum of Architecture was filled with Leon Tarasewicz’s art. His paintings and light installations culd be found in many nooks and crannies of the former Bernardine monastery.Museum of Architecture filled with art? Yes, since it is hard to imagine a better medium for conducting a real dialogue with architecture, thereby building a real interaction and avoiding just “talking about” it. There is only one condition: an artist has to be able to efficiently use such a medium.

Like many valauble projects, Tarasewicz’s exhibition would not have happened if it hadn’tbeen for a coincidence. Due to a combination of circumastances Rector of the Academy of Fine Arts in Wroclaw, Piotr Kielan and Artur Ulrich – a businessman, patron and collector came to the Museum of Architecture with an idea of awarding Leon Tarasewicz with a honorary professorship at the Academy of Fine Arts in Wroclaw and organizing a retrospective exhibition of his paintings. And that’s how it all started.

Thanks to the collaboration of Leon Tarasewicz with team of the Museum of Architecture in Wroclaw, the original concept quickly evolved towards an exhibition including not only the artist’s most important paintings, but also a set of site-specific installations, which entered into an interesting dialogue with the venue, i.e., with the museum building itself (former Bernardine monastery) as well as with its history and tradition. The exhibition played with the means of expression, which for some may be the source of aesthetic or emotional experiences, and for others – the starting point for a sophisticated, intellectual journey into the world of multi-layered contexts.
