The pretext for publishing the book and organizing the exhibition was 106th anniversary of commissioning the railway line between Wroclaw and Berlin in 2006. The book describes the events related to setting out the first railway line in Wroclaw and Silesia, and presents the history and architecture of the Wroclaw railway stations. Apart from an extensive catalog of railway buildings, the book includes ten original German texts that can be treated as source material. Moreover, the book contains biographies of the architects and builders of Wroclaw and Silesian railway infrastructure.
